Carpet cleaning instructions

Do not wash in ordinary washing machines. Do not use a hard brush in the carpet cleaning process. By using carpet shampoo, you can wash the carpet in the direction of the roll with plenty of water. You can dry the carpet in a shaded environment.

Carpet Cleaning Instructions – Step by Step

1. Avoid Machine Washing

Do not clean the carpet in a regular household washing machine. This may damage the fibers, the backing, or cause the colors to bleed.

2. No Hard Brushes

Avoid using hard or abrasive brushes, which can harm the texture and natural fibers of the rug. A soft brush or sponge is recommended for gentle cleaning.

3. Use Carpet Shampoo

Dilute a mild carpet shampoo in water. Apply it evenly on the surface using a soft brush or cloth. Always clean in the direction of the weave or roll, not against it.

4. Rinse Thoroughly

After applying shampoo, rinse the carpet with plenty of clean water to remove all residues. Leaving shampoo in the fibers may cause stiffness or discoloration over time.

5. Dry in the Shade

Avoid direct sunlight, as it can cause the colors to fade. Instead, hang or lay the carpet flat in a shaded, well-ventilated area until completely dry.

6. Do Not Fold While Wet

Never fold or store the rug while it is damp. Always ensure it is completely dry before use or storage to prevent mold or odor.

Rahrah

Rahrah carpets take their name from the design pattern and can be translated as "pathway". Plain sumac is 100% plain woven with wool on wool and can be woven in an average of 4-6 months. Rah Rah sumaks are woven in the provinces of Kirman and Sirjan in southeastern Iran, as well as in eastern Turkey. All of these weavers are predominantly Kurdish and use both 'kerman' - the word for high quality hand-spun wool, and imported New Zealand wool for the manufacture of these very fine sumac weaves. The colors used are all chemical dyes and it is extremely common to "wash with tea" the pieces after finishing, giving them a vintage look that ranges from a soft brownish "film" to a very dark, almost black appearance.
